Implement & Coordinate BIM

BIM has become the acronym buzzing around most architectural firms since its conceptualisation and early implementation in the late 80’s. Migrating to BIM is challenging and for some smaller firms seeming almost inaccessible. Dabbling in implementation of BIM is generally futile and in order to see results is vital that you take a long term view and a thorough approach to ensure a sound investment.

From BIM’s inception, CADSwift has been coordinating BIM models from various platforms into ARCHICAD and more recently Revit.  We can provide you with protocols, training and advice to seamlessly integrate consultant’s data.

Phases for Implementing BIM

Impeccable implementation of BIM workflows requires a process that will not occur overnight. The phases outlined below ensure that each step of the process can be executed with complete confidence.

Phase 1 – Evaluation

Your ability to implement BIM will ultimately depend on your resources. The most important being the knowledge base of your team. Also critical to the process is your hardware and software resources.

Phase 2 – Project Setup

Analysing your current workflows, and considering BIM best practices, we are able to work with you to design a system that allows you to understand the structure of a project. This is vital in being able to utilise the full potential of the technology. It also ensures you will avoid most of the pitfalls of haphazard BIM implementation.

Phase 3 – Project Workflows

With the pilot project nominated, it is important to design a process that uses the most effective workflows. Enabling your team to execute each stage efficiently is the main focus of this phase.

Phase 4 – Project Management

Ensuring the impeccable adhering to protocols defined in phases 2 and 3 is achieved through periodical reviews. This phase will also cover data safety issue and quality control of the project files.  At this point firms may consider retaining a BIM Manager for ongoing management and troubleshooting.

Implementation Expert

A Registered Graphisoft Consultant, and BIM implementation expert, Kristian has been heavily relied upon for customised process optimisations, training and solution designs for many forward thinking Architectural and Design firms within Australia over the last ten years. Working with GDL and ARCHICAD on a daily basis, we are well equipped to provide a comprehensive, forward thinking, efficient and problem free migration and implementation process which will leave you with the confidence to tackle any project within ARCHICAD.

CADSwift’s good reputation soon was recognised and utilised by the large content houses in Australia, as well as the UK, Denmark and the US who host manufacturer products that have been modelled at 3D objects. As the BIM industry was taking off everyone needed objects (representations of their products) created fast to keep up with the demands of the specifier.  CADSwift have created content for OEM’s including GWA (inc. Caroma), Dulux, AWS, Fletcher Building, Kleenmaid, Fisher & Paykel and more.
