BIM Content for Manufacturers

Architects Specify What They Can Model. Is Your Product in the Model?

Most building product manufacturers have a specification problem they don’t know about yet. If an architect can’t easily drop your product into their Archicad model, they will use a competitor’s product instead. CADSwift creates lightweight, data-accurate, native GDL objects, giving you a branded library your customers can download, place, and specify directly from your website.

Overview

Trust & Precision for Product Manufacturers

Digital adoption in construction demands content that is accurate, detailed, and easy to use. CADSwift delivers standardized BIM content that mirrors physical products, reduces specification errors, and supports compliance. With automation, consistent outputs, and parametric precision, manufacturers can ensure architects trust and specify their products more often.

CADSwift equips manufacturers to deliver consistent, ready-to-use BIM content that speeds up adoption, strengthens collaboration, and drives product visibility—ensuring your solutions stand out across every project.

Hidden Bottlenecks

The Problem: Your Competitors Are Already in the Model

When an architect opens Archicad to specify a tapware range, a facade panel, or a plumbing fixture, they work from what is already in their project library. If your product isn’t there as a ready-to-use BIM object, the decision gets made without you.

Most manufacturers find out about this problem too late. By the time a sales rep is involved, the specification was locked into the 3D model weeks earlier. The architects working right now are either using a competitor’s object in place of yours, or they’re modeling something generic. Neither outcome helps your brand.

The Fix

The Solution:

A Branded Archicad Library. Built by Experts

CADSwift delivers a fully branded, parametric GDL library containing your entire product catalogue.

Your customers download it directly from your website, install it into Archicad, and your products become part of their standard workflow.

This isn’t a converted Revit file. It isn’t a heavy 3D mesh from an overseas CAD factory.
It’s native GDL, built from the ground up for Archicad.

Why Architects Keep Our Models

File Sizes Stay Small

Architects won’t delete your library because it’s slowing down their model.

Precise dimensions, product codes, and specification data are locked into every object at the point of development.

Fixtures and fittings snap precisely to connection points, ensuring schedules populate automatically and accurately.

The ROI

Why Accuracy Matters:

A Few Centimeters Off = Thousands in Rework

For plumbing, electrical, and facade products, dimensional accuracy in the BIM model is not a “nice-to-have”, it is a project risk. A tapware outlet placed 40mm from its correct rough-in position creates a defect that gets picked up on-site, not on-screen.

When CADSwift builds a manufacturer’s object, the product’s real-world installation tolerances, connection points, and clearances are built directly into the code. What the architect places in the model is exactly what the contractor installs on site.

Your Deliverables

Your Branded Library File

A complete, installable Archicad library containing your product range, ready to host on your website as a free download for architects.

Every object carries your product codes, dimensions, finish options, and specification attributes. When an architect schedules your product, the exact data your sales and estimating teams need comes out of the model automatically.

Your products can be integrated into CADSwift’s live product catalogue, giving thousands of architects direct access to your range inside Archicad.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about CADSwift’s Archicad object libraries, BIM tools, licensing, and support.

We already have a BIM file on our website. Why do we need GDL?

Most manufacturer BIM files are either Revit exports or heavy 3D meshes. Large file sizes cause project lag, and non-native formats behave unpredictably in Archicad. GDL is Archicad’s native scripting language. Our objects are lightweight, accurate, and behave exactly like the built-in library, meaning architects actually keep and use them.

You host the library on your own website as a branded download. We can also integrate your products into the CADSwift catalogue for additional reach within the Archicad community.

You do. The finished GDL objects are delivered to you for permanent use and hosting. There are no ongoing licensing fees for your library.

We can work from product datasheets, DWG/DXF drawings, and product photography. Dimensional drawings with connection point and rough-in data are the most useful, particularly for plumbing and electrical products.

A single product object typically takes 3–5 business days. Full catalogue ranges are scoped on a per-project basis. We’ll give you a clear timeline and fixed price before work begins.
